So December has become rather busy
So it sort of started on 30th November when I recorded some of Leigh Gorney’s vocals for the long Decline and then headed off to the George Tavern to join the fun at Krautrock karaoke vol.66 at The George Tavern. Kicking off the month propper on the 1st December it was New River Studios with SPeW for an event hosted by Broad Church.
A little bit of a gap then - for rehearsing and building (and a bit of supply teaching) then on Tuesday 10th I was at The Endeavour in Deptford with a new project: limmy stimmy stimmy at Zen Jerk. This came form a chance improvisation set at 100 Years Gallery - back in November (Thanks to Sharen for organising) with Myself, Jasmin Pender and Fay Harmer. Very low level, almost ASMR, sounds that surprised me and was something I wanted to do again.
Coming up on Sat 14th Dec is my 100 Years Gallery Artist in residence stint - sound design for drawing. Then two nights in a row at the famous Dublin Castle - the 18th with SPeW supporting Cult Figures and on the 19th headlining with Rude Mechanicals - many thanks to Emma/Funkcutter/Punkvert for organising and asking us to play.
Barely will the dust have settled on that and I’m back at the Hundred Years Gallery for their Solstice Celebration - with Miss Roberts and some old and new Rudes.
Sometime in the middle of all this I played bass on some recordings for the Long Decline - on the 9th I think, at a rather nice studio out West London (depping for Marina Young, a much better bassist than I) - a also recorded and mixed some tracks for them.
There’s probably more, but it’s all blurring into a haze of rehearsal, instrument making, recording, mixing and gigging. I owe many thanks to all the lovely folk who’ve let me make silly noises - Marina, Miss Roberts, Hundred Yeas Gallery, Sharen, new River Studios, Tom, Jasmin, Nathan, Lee, Old Uncle Tom Cobley…
