Not many Jack Frost.. let’s reconnect with the true Pagan spirit of The Season, by enjoying some nice greenery indoors out of the cold, and getting off our chumps in celebration of the demise of the old Sun King. And also, get down to the ancient sacred monument that is the back room of the Dublin Castle to enjoy some powerful, Shamanic music… like…

Miss Roberts and the Rude Mechanicals, whose art jazz slinkiness and cabaret poetics featuring the brilliantly off kilter but accessible vocalising from the remarkable titular Miss R…. ‘Rude Mechanicals are a Pan-dimensional Creature manifesting itself in your reality as an Absurd Rock/Jazz/Punk Band consisting of Miss Roberts and her symbiotic slaves.’ Not half.

anarchistwood need no introduction but we be in modus anarchic so let’s give them one anyway… taking inspiration from Detroit ’60s, ’70s proto punk (indeed have been known to play a Destroy All Monsters number) as much as the Pistols packin’ ’76 SEX scene and post Crass ’80s Anarcho satire… Frank Cutter and crew know how to enrich the audience with fabulous, head turning, transgressive punk rock, and play it with a supercool ease. Punkish pranksterism never got so sassy. Effortlessly brilliant, massively entertaining.

The Crippens – these Lancastrian kings of riddim play it hard and fast, with a fabulous, wicked wit always on hand (‘Nightmare on Sesame Street’ anyone!?) The wayward Brit punk rock of Rudimentary Peni meets the Yank fireball ferocity of SST records artistes. A mind mangling mighty noise!
